Knast

Casey Moir – voice and effect pedals
Finn Loxbo – electric guitar, effect pedals, electronics
Martin Öhman – drums and electronics

Knast is a fusion of voice, electric guitar, and drums converging in a post-apocalyptic Pachinko Hall of noise, commotion, crunch, and crackle. Each member of the trio brings their own approach to augmenting their instrument, merging into a constantly disintegrating weave of shouts, feedback, squeling, scraping, bashing and growls.

Casey Moir
Casey is a vocalist with a particular interest for the experimental and extended capabilities of the voice. She is founder, member, and artistic director of the experimental 5-piece Viva Vocal Ensemble, performs/has performed regularly with her solo project, 13-piece ensemble Été Large (DE/FR/SE), trio 3 grams (DE/SE), and free improvisation duo Moir/Coudoux. She has composed works for contemporary ensembles such as Curious Chamber Players, and performed new works of living composers, such as Israel Martinez (MX) and Catarina Backman (SE).

Martin Öhman
Martin combines acoustic drumming with electronic elements in a synergy that makes him a sought-after musician in jazz and experimental music. He plays with, among others, Klabbes Bank, Thomas Backman and Lisen Rylander Löve OCEANS. Formerly in bands such as The Moth, Kvintetten som Sprängdes and in his own band Martin Öhman 7 Peace Orchestra.

Finn Loxbo
Finn is a guitarist with a focus on free and structured improvisation. His music is usually on either side of two dynamic extremes: quiet acoustic or electric and loud.
On the quiet side we find him in his own ensemble Kommun, as a solo act and in collaborations with, for example, Skogen. Examples from the louder side are Kyosaku, Anna Högberg Attack, and previously in bands such as Doglife, Strändernas svall and Fire! Orchestra.
