I want to explore a sonic world where sounds move between reality and the surreal. Playing and communicating with my analog cassette tapes, my flutes and exploring some digital tones, I weave complex sonic textures that reveal perhaps anecdotes, stories or hidden worlds, in this performance I would like to reflect both my own personal memories as well as some memories that appear in the machines themselves, somewhat dreamlike, somewhat lucid spaces. Inspired by my research on sound machines and their evolving and imperfect nature, this solo highlights how tape recorders, radios and some toys and objects -whether fully functional or worn out by time- reveal their materiality, personality and unique characteristics.
